Viburnum odoratissimum "Awabuki"

Use: Large hedge or sometimes a stand-alone accent piece.

Characteristics: Viburnum Awabuki is a large growing plant with shiny leaves. It is often used as a screening or buffer planting because of its large growth habit.

Trimming: Selectively hand pruning and shaping Awabuki is best to keep it full throughout and to maintain a pleasing shape. Once established, Awabuki will tolerate shearing two or three times per year or as needed. We recommend moderately shearing Awabuki in the spring, trimming by hand any stragglers in the summer, and shearing again in the fall. Be mindful when shearing to leave hedgerow wider on the bottom than on top.

Fertilization: Fertilize in March, June and October with a well-balanced, granular Palm fertilizer to coincide with trimming schedule.
