Use: Bismark palms are massive fan palms that make a dramatic statement in any landscape. They are used as centerpiece specimens, streetscape plantings or in a grouping.

Characteristics: Bismark Palms are striking in the landscape. With their silver-colored, fan-shaped fronds, and overall size, they are suitable for many large-scale projects. They only grow in full sun. At maturity, Bismarks can reach 50' tall and 25' wide.

Trimming: Trim fronds as needed to remove browning older fronds.

Fertilization: Typically easy and very fast growing palm, it is best to apply a well-balanced, time-released Palm fertilizer with minor elements in March, June and October. Occasionally, in sandy situations, a Boron deficiency may develop, which needs a quick response with application of this element. LESCO palm special, 8-2-12+4 is the best first response. Boron can be toxic in high doses.
