Dracaena reflexa 'Song of Jamaica'

Updated: Jul 19, 2023

Use: Song of Jamaica can be used as a very loose tall bedding plant, but is more commonly used as an accent piece, sometimes grown to a trellis or an espalier.

Characteristics: Song of Jamaica is a subtropical shrub with medium sized leaves. Branches are unique in their growth habit, that is to say they twist and bend in all directions.

Trimming: Song of Jamaica in espalier form needs to be continually trained and encouraged to follow the trellis. Hand prune stragglers or strays that detract from the 'flat' look

Fertilization: Fertilize in March, June and October with a well-balanced, granular Palm fertilizer.
